January 28th, 2014

I meditated on my life while doing some work around my apartment today. I came to the realization that I constantly rely on other people to make me happy, even though I know that I am the only one that can truly make me happy, and I often compare myself to other people on top of this. During this meditation I decided that this is going to change. I am uniquely me! No one elts is beautiful like I am. I'm not saying that I think that I am more beautiful then other people, I'm saying that no one elts is like me. There is only one me.


  • Morning
    • 1 Glass of filtered Water
    • Intense Ab Workout (30 min)
  • Breakfast
    • Pineapple Banana Smoothie
      • 2 Bananas, 1 1/2 Pineapple, 1 C. Coconut Water, Cinnamon, and fresh ginger
  • Snack 
    • 2 Coconut milk ice cream bars( I know...There gone now. Hopefully I can be better from now on).
    • 20 oz of filtered water
  • Lunch 
    • Eggs and Asparagus 
      • 2 Eggs, handful of asparagus, clove of garlic, hot pepper 
    • Orange, Spinach, Basil Smoothie w/ fresh ginger ( about half a mason jar)
  • Snack( Yes another one...)
    • 1 Bag of Popcorn (I really need to stop doing this to myelf)
  • Dinner(8 pm)
    • Pineapple and Pomegranate Ice cream
      • 2 frozen Bananas, 1 1/2 C. Pineapple, 1/4 C. Pomegranate seeds 
Something that I have noticed is how much I end up snacking on other things that are not always so good for me. I need to come up with a plan to keep me from eating these things. I'm thinking that maybe I should eat an apple or drink more water if I begin to feel a craving for something not so good for me coming on.

In the beginning of this year I decided that I was going to make a difference in my life. That I was going to become a better, healthier person. That I was going to start doing things instead of just thinking about doing them. So this is me finally getting around to making that commitment

  • Morning 
    • 1 glass of water
    • 5 min BexLife ab workout
    • 3 Rounds of a cross fit workout
  •  Breakfast(9am)
    • Banana Date Smoothie
      • 3 bananas, 5 dates, 1 C. coconut water
      • 1 C. of herbal tea
  • Lunch(12pm)
    • Peach pomegranate smoothie
      • 1 1/2 C. Frozen peaches, 1/2 C. pom, 1/4 C. silken tofu, 1 C. Almond milk
  • Failures:
      • 2- 80 cal. dairy free coconut milk ice cream bars
      • 1 C. Organic blue corn tortilla chips with 1/4 c. homemade vegan cheese dip.
  •  Dinner (8 pm)
    • fried eggs over Asparagus 
      • 2 eggs, handful of asparagus, 1 garlic clove, 1/8 tsp. frozen hot peppers, drizzled with Organic Ketchup.
    • Spinach, Basil, Orange, Pineapple smoothie
      • Handful of spinach, 2 large basil leaves, 1 C. organic orange juice, 1/4 C. pineapple, and 1/4 tsp. Fresh ginger. 
  • Evening(9pm)
    • 1 C. Herbal tea with honey
I have a bad cold almost certainly made worse, by my grain and cheese consumption over the weekend. Had to take a nap after work, which seemed to help me feel a little better, but what really seemed to help was what I ate for dinner.
As for the failures of the day. I am working on stopping this, and becoming more of a mindful eater. I know I can do this, I just need to put my mind to it.
